Russia’s Avtotor may start production of Ford Trucks’ 4 models

KALININGRAD, Sep 29 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Kaliningrad–based car producer Avtotor is preparing to launch production of Ford Trucks and will start with manufacturing of four most popular models, a spokesman told PRIME on Tuesday.

“At present, production of four models that are most in demand – tractive units and vehicles for road construction – is being prepared… Actual production will depend on market conditions, and also on currency and inflationary processes, which influence the market directly,” the spokesperson said.

In late 2014, Avtotor and Ford Otosan signed a memorandum foreseeing production of Ford Trucks at the Russian plant, including tractive vehicles, on-highway trucks and construction trucks.
